Nandakumar Janakiraman, B.D.S, M.D.S., MDentSc has been named associate professor with the Georgia School of Orthodontics (GSO), which consists of two campus locations in metro Atlanta.
“Dr. Janakiraman is a world-renowned researcher and proven leader,” said Ricky Harrell, D.M.D., M.A., Program Director of the Georgia School of Orthodontics. “He brings an extensive educational background and expertise in research to this position, as evidenced by his expansive professional and scientific publications. I’m confident his addition will further strengthen the credentials and prowess of the faculty at the Georgia School of Orthodontics.”
A member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Dr. Janakiraman will be responsible for all aspects of graduate orthodontic education of residents and fellows, including the research program at GSO.
“The access to information and technology at the Georgia School of Orthodontics is unprecedented,” said Dr. Janakiraman. “As an associate professor at GSO, one of my initial goals will be to utilize the extensive research department to deliver superior patient care, excellent training for our graduate residents, and scientific data to my peers in the orthodontic field. I am looking forward to strengthening GSO’s already robust research program.”
Dr. Janakiraman earned his master’s in dental science in orthodontics at the University of Connecticut’s School of Dental Medicine. He previously served as the Research Director at the University of Louisville’s School of Dentistry, Division of Orthodontics. His impressive professional and scientific publications include cover page features in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, as well as a Science Direct Top 25 Best Articles recognition.
