This year, Father’s Day falls on Sunday, June 19, and it’s the perfect time to show Dad how much you appreciate him. We know how important all the bandaged knees, bear hugs, and bad jokes are, but we also know it can be hard to figure out how to thank him for all the things he does. That’s why we’ve put together some suggestions for Dad-friendly activities and ideas in the Atlanta area:
1. Topgolf Outing
Everyone knows that golf is a classic Father’s Day activity so make tee-time more exciting by treating Dad to some time in the hitting bays and snacks from the sports bar.
2. Atlanta Braves or Atlanta United Game
Now is a better time than ever to engage in Atlanta sports! Get tickets online and give them as a gift on Sunday.
3. Summer Concert Tickets
Let Dad break out the dance moves at a concert for a band he likes! Truist Park, the Cobb Energy Centre, and Chastain Park are all great venues to check out with lots of options.
4. Brunch
Brunch isn’t just for Mother’s Day! Check out one of Atlanta’s many great brunch spots like the West Egg, White House Manuel’s Tavern and treat Dad the sunny side up way.
5. Grill & Chill
Barbecue and Father’s Day go together perfectly! Swap out with Dad and let him be the one who’s not behind the grill for a day.
6. Gift of a Smile Heroes
Nominate your dad (your Hero) by June 15, 2022 for a chance to receive free braces or Invisalign® treatment through GSO’s Gift of a Smile Heroes. The initiative recognizes heroes of
all types (moms, dads, essential workers, teachers & first responders, to name a few) in the Atlanta metro community. Visit www.BracesToday.com/Hero.
Side note: Just like any holiday, Father’s Day can come with mixed emotions for many people. Check in with loved ones who may be experiencing loss today and let them know you’re thinking about them. If Father’s Day is a hard time for you, just remember you’re not alone!
