    Course Description

Since Cone Beam images revolutionized our field, dentists have been able to diagnose and treat patients more accurately. Lower dose radiation, better quality of images and 3D reconstruction of anatomical landmarks have become part of our daily routine as clinicians.

This course is designed for dentists and orthodontists who use CBCT imaging for multidisciplinary patient management that are seeking to gain a higher level of interpretation and application of CBCT images on a daily basis. This course will be dedicated to specific orthodontic diagnosis and different treatment plans in relation to CBCT 3D findings from Airway, TMJ and Periodontal support.

    Educational Objectives
    1. Advantages and disadvantages of CBCT use
    2. Determine and select fields of view for specific patient needs (levels of radiation)
    3. Highlight responsibilities implied when determining findings on a CBCT
    4. Recognize and interpret Airway and TMJ’s
    5. Evaluate and recognize bone support and limitation of orthodontic treatment
    6. Limitations in Orthodontics
